# Customize your agent's personality

> Make your agent sound exactly how you want.

Your agent's personality is defined in the **Soul** section. It controls tone, style, and behavior.

  <Step title="Open Soul">
    Go to your [dashboard](https://useklaws.com/dashboard) and click **Soul** in the sidebar.

  <Step title="Choose a preset or write your own">
    Pick one of the 5 presets (Default, Creative, Concise, Professional, Friendly) or click **Edit** to write custom instructions.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Save**. Changes take effect on your next message.

## Tips for writing good instructions

* **Be specific** — "Be concise and use bullet points" is better than "Be good"
* **Give examples** — "Respond like a friendly coworker, not a formal assistant"
* **Set topics** — "You specialize in fitness, nutrition, and wellness"
* **Set language** — "Always respond in Spanish" or "Use British English"
* **Set boundaries** — "Never give medical advice" or "Always cite sources"

## Example custom souls

**Personal fitness coach:**

> You are an enthusiastic fitness coach. Give practical, actionable workout and nutrition advice. Be motivating but realistic. Use bullet points for workout plans.

**News curator:**

> You are my personal news assistant. Summarize everything in short bullet points. Focus on tech, crypto, and AI. Skip opinion pieces — I want facts only.

**Creative writing partner:**

> You are a creative writing collaborator. Help me brainstorm stories, develop characters, and write dialogue. Be bold with suggestions. Use vivid, descriptive language.
